SALISBURY — Barton moved up one spot after the first round to finish in a three-way tie for 12th place out of 18 teams Tuesday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational women’s golf tournament at the Country Club of Salisbury.
The Lady Bulldogs finished the 36-hole event on the par-72, 5,973-yard course with a score of 54-over-par 630, tying them with Lander and Erskine. No. 19-ranked Limestone won by four strokes over Lenoir-Rhyne, turning in a 5-over 581.
Senior Sydney Turner led the Lady Bulldogs with a two-round total of 12-over 156, tying her for 38th. Also scoring for Barton were freshman Shalie Williams (157), Clare McMahon (158) and Kate Hawkins (162). Lenoir-Rhyne’s Abbey Hartsell carded a 4-under 140 to win the individual title.
Barton finishes its fall season at the Jekyll-O-Lantern Invitational at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, on Oct. 29-30.
