Despite a disappointing loss in the Conference Carolinas tournament semifinals Thursday, it was not the end of the season for the Barton College women’s basketball team.

The Lady Bulldogs earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II tournament when the bracket was unveiled Sunday night. Barton, making its second straight NCAA appearance, is the No. 8 seed in the Southeast Region and will see a familiar face in top-seeded and host Anderson University in the regional quarterfinals Friday in Anderson, South Carolina. The Trojans and Lady Bulldogs were former conference rivals but haven’t played since Anderson’s last season in Conference Carolinas in 2010.

Tip-off for the game is 5 p.m. Friday.

Barton, which shared the Conference Carolinas regular-season title with Emmanuel College, has a 24-5 record, with all five losses coming in conference play. Anderson, which won the South Atlantic Conference regular-season and tournament championships, is 29-2.

Emmanuel, which won the Conference Carolinas tournament Friday, is the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 North Georgia, the Peach Belt Conference regular-season and tournament queen. The other Southeast Regional pairings are No. 3 Wingate versus No.6 Clayton State and No. 4 Carson-Newman versus No. 5 Lander.
