DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The spring break in Daytona Beach was not much fun to the Barton College women’s lacrosse team in a 21-5 loss to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Wednesday.
The Lady Eagles forged a 9-0 lead in a span of just over 10 minutes in dealing Barton its third loss against as many wins. The Lady Eagles (5-1) of the Sunshine State Conference owned a 16-2 cushion at the break and outshot the Lady Bulldogs, 29-8.
Barton’s first three goals were netted by freshman Jenna Brunclik, who now possesses the program’s single-season record with 23. The product of Chesapeake Beach, Virginia, surpassed the previous standard of 21` possted by Kianna Jimenez last year in the program’s inaugural season.
Also scoring for Barton were Natalie Brooks and Brooke Lonergan.
Barton next sees action on Wednesday, March 14, at Chowan University.
