Behind a first-quarter shutout, the Community Christian School varsity girls basketball team seized an early advantage and never looked back in procuring a 50-17 victory over Henderson Crossroads Christian on Thursday night inside Barney Williamson Gym.

In a battle of former 1-A Carolina Christian Conference (now defunct) rivals, CCS (5-5) of the 1-A/2-A Coastal Independents Conference was led by the 10 points of senior Anna Jackson.

Sophomore Cheyenne Gardner had nine and senior Morgan Lane chipped in eight. CCS owned a 21-4 advantage at halftime and a resounding 35-7 lead entering the fourth.

Following a two-week break, the Lady Cyclones will return to the floor for the North Hills Basketball Tournament in Salisbury, where CCS will open play against host North Hills Christian on the 28th.
