GOLDSBORO — Caroline Baker and Traclyn Clark each posted 9-hole round of 47 to lead the North Johnston High girls golf team to a second-place finish out of five teams Tuesday at Lane Tree Golf Club.
Host Wayne Christian nudged the Lady Panthers by one stroke for the team victory, 149-150. The victorious Lady Eagles were led by the 42 of Karsyn Roberts. North Johnston, which shot a 150, was rounded out with Haley Narron’s card of 56.
Following in the team standings were Erwin Triton (152), Charles B. Aycock (154) and Rosewood (190). Abby Sauls, third overall, shot a 46 to lead the Lady Golden Falcons. Leah Campbell and Savannah Strickland each posted rounds of 54 for CBA.
Triton’s Kathetine Elliott earned medalist honors, traversing the nine holes with a score of 40.
