Police are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting that injured a man in the Pizza Hut parking lot.
Around 10:48 a.m., officers responded to the 1702 Glendale Drive restaurant regarding a person who had been shot.
When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Connie J. Jenkins suffering from several gunshot wounds to his hands, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud.
Stroud said an unknown man shot Jenkins in the restaurant’s parking lot. Jenkins was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment of his injuries.
Stroud said those injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
“After conducting a preliminary investigation, it’s been determined that the incident wasn’t related to Pizza Hut,” Stroud said.
Stroud said the shooting wasn’t random.
Police are still looking for the shooting suspect, who officers describe as a black man with a beard and mustache wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.
Wilson Medical Center was on lockdown for about 30 minutes, hospital officials said.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
