Mary Olive West Miller, 86, of Wilson, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at the home of her son. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Goldsboro. The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home, Goldsboro.
Mary was born in Wilson County on June 26, 1933 to the late Arthur L. West and S. Belle Bass West. She was married to the late Dr. Walton H. Miller Jr. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1952. Mary was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Goldsboro. She supported her husband in many of his business, civic and charitable activities including the American Medical Association Auxiliary. Mary was also a member of the Goldsboro Women’s Club.
Mary is survived by her son, William Brent Flowers, and wife, Leslie, of Wilson; daughter, Crystal F. Standiford, and husband, Michael, of Joplin, Missouri; and her grandchildren, Annelise Standiford, Marielle Standiford, Grant Flowers, Ashlynn Mathias, Veronica Standiford, Jadey Mathias, Jordan Flowers, Zechariah Standiford and Charlotte Standiford.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph West.
