Laura Cecilia Evans and Jeffrey William Matherly, both of Wilson, were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony on April 6 at SoCo Farm Food. Laney Margolis, humanist celebrant, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery L. Evans of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace Lee Evans of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude W. Coffee of Newport News, Virginia. She graduated from Fike High School and attended Wilson Community College. She is employed with Nelms Family Medicine as a receptionist.

The groom is the son of Rebecca Green of Spring Hope. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hamilton of Spring Hope. He graduated from Southern Nash High School and attended Wilson Community College. He is employed with BMC Building Materials and Construction Solutions as a door shop supervisor.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Kristine Bruesch was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Erin Tessnear.

Travis Duke was best man. Groomsmen was John Lindey.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at SoCo Farm and Food. Hosts were the bride’s parents.

The rehearsal dinner was also held at SoCo Farm and Food and was hosted by the bride’s parents.

Since their return from a honeymoon to Kauai, Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Matherly are making their home in Wilson.
