Elm City kicked off its boys soccer season in grand fashion with a 9-0 win at home over Forest Hills on Wednesday.

Snyder Pearson scored the first goal for the Vikings off an assist from Jayden Moses in the second minute and added another goal in the 14th minute with Hank Berry providing the assist.

Also scoring goals in the first half for the Vikings were Kevin Moran, Will Doll, Chance Greene and Ben Mosley, who converted a penalty kick to give Elm City a 6-0 lead. Moses assisted on Doll’s score.

Chris Hill knocked in a pass from Jaden Fuentes in the 37th minute and Berry punched in a goal a minute later. Jose Galvan followed with an unassisted goal in the 42nd to complete the scoring.

Lennon Warren, Stone Massey and Phillip Glennon combined in goal for the shutout while Mosley, Hill and Micah Foula anchored the defensive effort.

The Vikings will visit West Edgecombe on Monday while the Bucks (0-1) will host Toisnot.
