The Wilson Christian Blue boys basketball team evened its record at .500 with a 38-34 win over Raleigh Christian on Tuesday.
David Greene had 10 points for the Chargers (8-8), with Hunter Lewis tacking on eight points and seven rebounds.
Seth Quinn bucketed seven points and six boards, while Xavier Joyner pulled down seven rebounds and had three steals.
WCA visits Raleigh Christian in a rematch on Thursday.
Wilson Prep defense stops Word of God
RALEIGH — Defense reigned for the Wilson Prep Academy boys basketball team that overwhelmed host Word of God Christian Academy, 53-13, Monday evening.
The Tigers bolted to an 18-0 first-quarter lead and scored the first 20 points. Word of God did not connect for a field goal until third quarter.
Eleven Wilson Prep players scored, led by Jamarion Davis and Zion White with 10 points each. Isaiah Buck netted seven.
10-0 start triggers Lady Tigers’ win
RALEIGH — The visiting Wilson Prep Academy girls basketball team netted the first 10 points en route to a 36-15 triumph against Word of God Christian Academy on Monday.
The Lady Tigers tallied 18 points before Word of God connected for its first field goal.
Spearheading Wilson Prep were Layia Bass and Niiyana Edwards with 12 points each. Lillian Stegall added eight points and Faith Jones grabbed seven rebounds.
