ZEBULON — The Carolina Mudcats were denied a sweep of their three-game series against Lynchburg when the Hillcats rallied to a 5-2 Advanced-A Carolina League victory Sunday afternoon in Five County Stadium.

The Mudcats managed a run in each of the first two innings and were limited to two hits in falling to 25-37 in the second half and 64-67 overall.

Lynchburg (27-33, 59-68) took the lead for keeps with three runs in the top of the second inning.

Collecting the Carolina hits were left fielder Leugim Castillo and shortstop Trever Morrison. Right fielder Rob Henry and first baseman Pat McInerney each drove in a run.
