SALISBURY — With just three golfers participating, Barton College will not qualify for a team score in the 2019 Patsy Rendleman Invitational over the 5,973-yard Country Club of Salisbury layout.

Catawba leads the 16-team field after Monday’s first round with 297 strokes, 9-over-par, for its low four individuals.

Limestone and Lenoir-Rhyne tied for second place at 298. The University of Mount Olive stood fourth at 301, while Queens University (302) rounded out the top five.

The Lady Bulldogs’ top performer was senior Nikki Norlin with an 83. Freshmen Grace Greene and Taylor Capps carded an 84 and 87, respectively.

Norlin enters Tuesday’s final round tied for 75th individually, while Greene is deadlocked for 80th and Capps is 85th.

Representing the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas are Limestone, Mount Olive, Belmont Abbey, Erskine, King, North Greenville and Barton.
