PINETOPS — The North Johnston High varsity boys soccer team, the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference leader, needed just 51 of the scheduled 80 minutes to turn back host conference rival SouthWest Edgecombe 9-0 and enforce the nine goal-lead rule on Thursday.
Senior Adam Rosales recorded a hat trick (three goals) and added an assist as the Panthers climbed to 6-0 in the conference and to 11-8-1 in all matches.
Senior Alexis Hernandez and junior Jose Rios each netted two goals, while sophomore Ty Narron and junior Blaine Crocker managed one each.
Senior Hugo Ramirez set the pace with two assists, while collecting one each were Rosales, senior Brennen Cook, senior Casey Moye, Nazrron and sophomore Dylan Pitts.
Hernandez leads the Panthers with 26 goals and has posted 11 assists. Rosales in the assists leader with 12 and he has also scored 12 goals.
Junior North Johnston goalkeeper Jonie Moreno was credited with seven saves.
