Knowing that Pi Day is held annually on March 14 (the value of “pi” is 3.14, which is used to calculate the circumference of a circle), the students of Wilson Christian Academy used the occasion to raise money for the Landen Bass Memorial Scholarship Fund. They convinced more than a dozen teachers and administrators to volunteer to be "Pi'd" if students put enough money into their cup during lunch and break. By the end of Pi Day, students had collected $426 for the Landen Bass Scholarship Fund. The winning teacher was Desiree Brewer. Her daughter Maddie (first grade) had the honor of “delivering” her mom’s pie. Landen, who died earlier this month, was a former student at Wilson Christian.
