Police are still investigating a drive-by shooting that left two men injured Tuesday.
A Wilson police officer was on patrol when she heard several gunshots coming from the 1000 block of Vance Street around 5 p.m., according to police.
The officer spoke with a woman in the 600 block of Carroll Street who said that two men had been shot, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud. Investigating officers found the victims, Devin M. Strickland, 21, and Taviyaz J. Holden, 20, injured from gunshot wounds to their “extremities,” Stroud said.
Both men told police they were walking on Vance Street when “unknown persons” shot them from a black Nissan Altima, Stroud said. He said the victims could not provide any more information to police about the shooters.
Strickland and Holden were taken to Wilson Medical Center for treatment.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 252-243-2255.
