Police say a man was injured after a Tuesday shooting on Lodge Street.
Authorities responded to Wilson Medical Center around 9:21 p.m. after the victim arrived to be treated for a gunshot wound. The man told police he was walking in the 400 block of Lodge Street when a group of three men approached him asking him what he had on his person, according to police.
One of the men pulled out a handgun and the victim began struggling with him over the weapon, police said. The weapon discharged and struck the victim in the arm, according to Sgt. Stuart Haste. He ran from the scene and was taken to Wilson Medical Center shortly after the incident.
Police describe the three perpetrators as follows:
• Suspect No. 1: medium brown skin, between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants, possibly blue jeans
• Suspect No. 2: medium brown skin, between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and a dark bandana covering his face
• Suspect No. 3: light brown skin, between 5 feet, 10 inches, and 6 feet tall, wearing a dark v-neck T-shirt, dark, gray shorts of sweatpants material
