A Wilson father was wounded after police say his 24-year-old son shot him several times.

Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of Chase Road at 12:36 a.m. last Saturday in reference to a shooting. Officers found 42-year-old Bobby N. Bullock Jr. suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud.

Bullock Jr. was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment. Police said he had non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives investigated the shooting and arrested the victim’s son, Bobby N. Bullock III. Police found him not too far from where the incident occurred.

Police have not described the circumstances leading up to the shooting or revealed the suspect’s motive.

Bullock III, of 400 Gold St. E., is charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He was booked into the Wilson County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
