The spate of soggy weather over North Carolina kept the Wilson Tobs off the field for a third straight day as Sunday evening’s Coastal Plain League home game against the Peninsula Pilots was rained out.

The Tobs, who had road games at Edenton and High Point rained out Friday and Saturday, have Monday off and will be back in action Tuesday evening at Fleming Stadium against the Edenton Steamers. Wilson, still 5-1 and in first place in the North Division, will make up Sunday’s game against the Pilots in a doubleheader later in the season.

Friday’s game at Edenton will be made up as part of a doubleheader Wednesday, June 19, at Hicks Field while Saturday’s game against against the High Point-Thomasville HiToms was canceled since the teams do not face one another again this season.

Sunday’s Bark in the Park promotion was been moved to Saturday, June 15, along with Faith and Family Night and Girl Scout Night. Tickets purchased for the June 9 game will be honored June 15.

The Tobs play an exhibition game at noon Wednesday against the High Point Locos at Fleming. The Fayetteville SwampDogs are the opponent for the “Thirsty Thursday” game at Fleming before the Tobs visit the reigning CPL champion Morehead City Marlins on Friday in the first meeting of the teams since the Marlins knocked Wilson from the Petitt Cup playoffs last August.
