The Wilson Parks and Recreation Department’s Champions In Motion Cheerleading program sent four teams to the Champions In Motion State Championships in Fayetteville on June 1-2 and two squads returned with state titles.

The Division 1 Conquerors won their first state crown by claiming the X-Large Division while the Division 3 Warriors ruled the Medium Division for their third state championship in a row.

The Division 4 Gladiators placed fourth while the Division 2 Guardians were sixth overall in the competition at Crown Coliseum that attracted more than 140 teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

The Wilson teams are coached by Kara Teele.

New athlete registration will be held on Tuesdays — June 4, 11 and 18 — at Recreation Park Community Center. For more information, email Teele at cimwilsoncheer@gmail.com.
