After several weeks of work, the Roses store in the Wilson Mall has reopened.
The store closed in late August while crews cleaned and completed some updates, according to Variety Wholesalers President Wilson Sawyer. While restocking is underway, the discount retailer did reopen for business Thursday.
“We’re not leaving. We do very well there even though the rest of the mall closed,” Sawyer said. “We have lots of loyal customers that shop that store every week.”
N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services spokeswoman Heather Overton said the store had a routine inspection in August that revealed a rodent issue, but it was not significant enough to warrant a forced closure of the store.
“In order to facilitate their restoration activities, they voluntarily ceased operations to correct the issue,” Overton said.
