Being a resident of Wilson and quite involved in politics and the community over the years, I am quite concerned that this year’s municipal elections have become so political that one loses sight of what’s best for the city and its governing board.

Under Mayor Bruce Rose’s tenure as mayor, regardless of how many years he has served, look at the good he has done and the growth in downtown Wilson. And the road looks even brighter for downtown, bringing the east and west closer together and the city council and county commissioners working closer together! As the old saying goes, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”

Please join me in voting for Bruce Rose as mayor to continue the path that builds on the strengths and accomplishments that best suit our great city.
