At its March meeting, the Wilson County Board of Education recognized the community partners and WCS staff who have made an opportunity possible for high school students. Through the creation of the Career Connections Program, seven students are spending eight weeks job shadowing health care professionals at Carolina Family Health Centers and Wilson Medical Center. The students all have an interest in the medical field. This program would not have been possible without the Wilson Education Partnership (represented by Robin Williams), Area L AHEC (represented by Debby Futrell), Wilson Medical Center (represented by Preston Callison), Carolina Family Health Centers (represented by Laura Owens) and WCS staff members David Lyndon, Michelle Graybeal, Jean Hall and Kelly Lindsey.
