First grade teachers at Jones Elementary School invited several people from the community to speak to students about their careers and their importance to the community. Speakers included Ryan Mooring, with the Wilson Police Department; Anita Jones, Anita's Marketing; Brad Garrett, Kinston Fire Department and Black Creek Volunteer Fire Department; Gordon Deno, Wilson County Emergency Management; Jeff Williford, Wilson County 911; Carl Jackson, Bridgestone Firestone; Darnell Thoms, N.C. government data analyst; and Lane Mills, Wilson County Schools superintendent.
