Take a break from the rush of Christmas shopping, baking and wrapping and enjoy the silent beauty of more than 300 Nativity scenes.
For the eighth year, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is inviting the community to its Nativity Celebration Friday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5:30 p.m. at 2615 Tilghman Road.
The nativity scenes are made of a variety of materials from corn husks to ceramics, felt to wood. One is even crocheted.
Many of the nativities are from locations around the world, including Ethiopia, Guatemala, Bethlehem, Ireland and Mexico.
In addition to the nativities, the church has displayed many pieces of art in a second Living Christ room.
