Thank you for your recent coverage of Wilson’s 25th annual Senior Awareness Day. Each year this day gives us an opportunity to thank our seniors for all they have contributed over the years to make Wilson County the great place it is today.

Once again, our community came together to help provide hundreds of seniors and disabled adults with a day that was filled with fellowship, entertainment and educational opportunities. We had a marvelous group of presenters who provided information to help our attendees “Engage at Every Age.”

This year’s anniversary celebration offered an opportunity to reminisce over the wonderful times we’ve shared together and to thank many of those organizations and businesses who have been there from the start of Senior Awareness Day. This year, nearly 40 community partners shared information to help our attendees manage their health and stay active in the community as well.

As always, this day would not happen without the support of our wonderful sponsors and our dedicated volunteers and staff. Thank you to Sheriff Calvin Woodard and the staff of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office for all their hard work and support, and a special thanks to everyone on the planning committee for their dedication to this event.

We look forward to celebrating our 26th anniversary of Senior Awareness Day next year and to this wonderful event for many years to come.
