Southern Bank partnered with Wilson Education Partnership again this year to make some mini grant wishes come true. For the past three years, the bank has reached out to help. This year they funded Portraits for a "Paws" at Springfield Middle School and Hands on Mathematicians at Frederick Douglas Elementary. The $606 total grant funds will help more than 150 students. Adults, from left, are Sonja Hayes, Frederick Douglas Elementary School teacher; Gabriel "Gabe" Farris, Southern Bank community banker and Wilson Education Partnership board member; Joshua Thomas, Southern Bank vice president; and Sabra Green, Frederick Douglas assistant principal.
