For the past several years, Wilson County Schools Superintendent Lane Mills has held a contest for elementary students to design the Christmas cards that he sends to colleagues in Wilson and across the state. This year, Mills selected four winners: Anna Taylor from Jones, Jagslyn Castillo from Lucama, Mackenzie O’Brian from New Hope and Hanna Salazar from Rock Ridge. Anna, Jagslyn and Mackenzie are pictured with Rhyan Breen, school board member. The students were recognized at the Wilson County Board of Education meeting on Monday. Mills thanked them for sharing their artistic talent and said that he knew their cards were going to put everyone in the Christmas spirit.
