Students interact with Wilson Medical Center staff during a Student Health Career Awareness Day last month. The hospital partnered with the Area Health Education Center for Area L to provide an educational day for middle and high school students from Wilson, Halifax, Edgecombe and Nash counties to help them learn more about careers in health care. Hospital staff from pharmacy, radiology, lab, operating room, rehab services, coding, nursing and hands-only CPR participated in the event. The students heard a presentation from CEO Mark Holyoak, saw hands-on interactive displays from various departments, went on hospital tours and had lunch during this collaborative event.
