Barnes Transportation Services of Wilson pitched in for the third year to do its part with Wreaths Across America last week. Wreaths Across America made it possible for 1.8 million wreaths to be placed on headstones of veterans buried in more than 1,600 cemeteries in the United States. More than 260 trucking companies around the country donated their time to deliver the wreathes. Barnes driver Richard Vroman, a veteran, delivered to cemeteries in Jacksonville, Goldsboro and Fremont. Keith Barnes, president at Barnes Transportation Services, learned about Wreaths Across America from his position on the executive board of the N.C. Trucking Association. He said he wanted to be part of the effort.
