AHOSKIE — Junior Jackson Stone scored a goal and made two assists as the Greenfield varsity boys soccer handed host Ridgecroft School a 4-1 defeat Monday.

Stone delivered a pass to Zeke Ferrell, who converted from eight yards for the Knights’ first goal in the 16th minute. Four minutes later, Stone headed in a corner kick off the foot of Jeremy Alvarez.

After Ridgecroft halved the margin in the 35th minute, the Knights added a pair of goals and shut out the Rams in the second half. William Smith scored off an assist from Alex Cortez-Rodriguez before Alvarez finished the scoring in the 67th minute with Stone making the pass.

The Knights outshot their hosts 18-9 while Greenfield goalkeeper Luke Flaherty made seven saves.

Greenfield, now 6-7-2 overall, will return to 1-A Coastal Plains Independents Conference play Tuesday at home against Pope John Paul II Catholic High of Greenville.
