Bria Griffith played a central role in her Hunt High varsity girls basketball team’s two wins last week, making her this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Bria, a 5-foot-10 junior point guard, had 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals in the Lady Warriors’ 76-35 victory at C.B. Aycock on Wednesday. She then totaled 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals in Hunt’s 61-39 win at home against Smithfield-Selma on Friday.
On the season, Bria leads the Lady Warriors, who improved to 6-2 after going 2-1 last week, scoring (17.5 points per game), rebounding (5.5), assists (3.8) and steals (4.0).
The daughter of Barbara and Danny Griffith of Wilson, Bria has a 3.3 GPA at Hunt. She will take honors English and U.S. history in the spring semester. She also runs track for the Lady Warriors.
Bria helps take care of her family at home, including her newly adopted younger sister. She plays travel basketball, moving to RNS Sports of Raleigh this season.
