Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Claire Dixon, Fike High

Claire Dixon played a pivotal role in her Fike High varsity girls soccer team’s two wins last last week, making her this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

A senior midfielder, Claire had two assists as the Lady Demons defeated archrival Hunt 3-2 on Wednesday, putting Fike in sole possession of first place in the 3-A Big East Conference. On Thursday, she had a hat trick (three goals) in Fike’s 5-0 victory at Southern Nash.

Claire has a 5.125 weighted GPA and is ranked No. 1 in her senior class at Fike where she is the president of the school’s chapter of National Honor Society and the student delegation leader of the YMCA Youth and Government program at Fike. She is also in Science National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Club Interact.

The daughter of Marilee and Tim Williford of Wilson and Scott and Rebecca Dixon of Wilson, Claire attended Governor’s School of North Carolina for Spanish last summer. She is a member of the Wilson Family YMCA’s Junior Board and was named to the WITN’s Best of the Class of 2018 for Fike.

She participates in mission trips to Belize with her family through her church, First United Methodist Church of Wilson.

She previously played for the Wilson Youth Soccer Association Explosion.

Claire has been accepted into the Honors Carolina program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
