Junior Ethan Maddrey kept his unbeaten streak going for the Hunt High boys swim team last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
In the second 3-A Big East Conference meet of the season, Ethan won both of his individual events — the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 butterfly — as well as swam on two of the Warriors’ winning relay teams in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle. He also won all four of his events — 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 400 freestyle relay — in the first conference meet, helping the Warriors place first overall in both.
The son of Stacey and Gene Maddrey of Wilson, Ethan has a 3.78 GPA at Hunt, where he is a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
He is active at Milbourne Free Will Baptist Church, where he helps with the ages 3-4 Sunday school class.
Ethan is currently in his seventh year swimming with the Wilson Barracudas swim team.
