Lea Gossett helped her Wilson Christian Academy varsity girls basketball team win its fifth straight game to start the season last week, making her this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Lea, a sophomore guard, had four points, six rebounds, five steals and five assists in the Lady Chargers 57-37 defeat of Wake Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 20. She leads the team in steals and assists and has a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
The daughter of Angela and Robert Gossett of Bailey, Lea has a 3.9 GPA at Wilson Christian. She also plays soccer for the Lady Chargers.
She plays for the Wilson Youth Soccer Association Explosion Premier girls 17U team and plays in the U.S. Youth Soccer Association’s Olympic Development Program.
Lea works part-time as a soccer referee for Wilson Parks and Recreation Department.
