Sophomore Jack Ortiz helped his Wilson Christian Academy varsity boys soccer team to a pair of victories last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Jack, who moved to the center back position on defense after playing striker last year, helped the Chargers win 2-1 against Greenfield on Monday. On Tuesday, Ortiz shifted to the stopper position and led the defense in WCA’s 1-0 victory at Hilltop Christian in Fuquay-Varina. That was Wilson Christian’s third consecutive victory.
Jack, the son of Sonia and Arturo Ortiz of Wilson, has a 3.37 GPA at Wilson Christian, where he plays basketball and baseball and sings in the choir.
He attends Peace Church in Wilson with his family.
Jack works part-time for his father’s business, Two Brothers Flooring.
