Trump’s right; Democrats are no friends of Israel

Upon reading the letter from Cyrus Shamloo accusing the president of anti-Semitic remarks (“Trump’s remarks on Jews’ loyalty repeats anti-Semitic trope,” Thursday) I felt compelled to look for the source quote and attempt to understand the charge. The quote is as follows:

“Five years ago, the concept of even talking about this — even three years ago — of cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people — I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation,” Trump added. “Where has the Democratic Party gone? Where have they gone where they’re defending these two people over the state of Israel?”

He added, “I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat — it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

Given that President Trump has a Jewish son-in-law as a trusted aide and a daughter who converted to Judaism, has repeatedly repudiated white nationalism and white supremacists and has moved the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, the anti-Semitic charge seems risible on its face.

President Trump is correct in asserting that Jews who support the Democratic Party, which has been aiding and abetting the Four Horsewomyn of the Democrat Apocalypse, aka, The Squad, in their openly hostile attitudes and actions toward Israel seem to not have Israel’s best interest at heart. The Squad has openly advocated for the boycott, divest and sanction movement and remarks such as,”It’s all about the Benjamins.” leave no doubt as to who the real anti-Semites are. Unfortunately, Ilhan Omar’s and AOC’s remarks are seldom scrutinized by the press and never sanctioned by Democratic Party leadership.

Trump Derangement Syndrome has taken root in the Democratic Party and has clouded its sufferers’ judgment and ability to understand the president’s statement that a Jew who votes Democrat shows a lack of awareness as to which party is the true friend of Israel, the only democratic government in the Middle East whose values align with ours.

This hatred of the president will continue to color coverage of his remarks while white washing or ignoring the truly offensive remarks and actions of the real Jew-haters in the opposition party.
