After a scorching start to the week, a cold front could bring cloud cover and heavy rain to the greater Wilson area depending on its path and how long it lingers, Al Thomas explains in this week's installment of The Wilson Times Weathercast brought to you by NCWheels.com.

High temperatures will top out around 94 or 95 degrees Tuesday and Thursday with a heat index in the low triple digits. The cold front could enter North Carolina Wednesday afternoon or evening, increasing rain chances from 30% on Tuesday to 50% during the day on Wednesday and 60% overnight. Some thunderstorms could be severe.

Weather models aren't unanimous on the front's movement after it reaches the coast. National Weather Service forecasts call for a 30% chance of storms Thursday falling to 25% Friday through Sunday. Under partly cloudy skies, highs should top out in the upper 80s.
