A break in the blistering temperatures is in sight, but first, the greater Wilson area will endure a weekend of extreme heat, Al Thomas explains in this weekend's installment of The Wilson Times Weathercast brought to you by NCWheels.com.

Humidity combines with daytime highs in the mid- to upper 90s to create heat indexes around 110 degrees Saturday and Sunday. Lows will be in the 76 to 78-degree range overnight. A cold front should reach the area on Tuesday, which will increase rain chances from 25% or below through the weekend to 40% Monday and 60% on Tuesday.

Monday's high drops to the low 90s, followed by the upper 80s on Tuesday with a chance of severe thunderstorms.
