Wilson County property owners will soon receive their 2019 tax bills. County officials said 50,000 property tax bills will be mailed out on Aug. 26. And residents can start paying their bills on Sept. 1.
“Annual assessments are based on ownership value and taxability as of Jan.1 for fiscal year starting July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year,” said Wilson County Tax Administrator Randy Faircloth.
Bills become past due on Jan. 6 unless that day falls on a weekend. Then it would be the next business day, Faircloth added.
The Wilson County Tax Department is located on the first floor of the Nash Street Office Building downtown beside the Wilson County Courthouse.
Residents can pay their tax bills in person at the office, by mail or by visiting the county website at www.wilson-co.com and paying online. Payments can be in the from of cash, personal check, certified check, money order, debit or credit card.
