On Thursday evening, a huge tree fell in our neighbor’s yard across Canal and Sulgrave drives, taking with it all the power lines, leaving the neighborhood in the dark for almost five hours. After checking on the neighbors, I stood at the door watching the utility crews restore the lines, cut up the tree from the road and clean up after power was restored.
Without doubt, we have the best utility crew members in the state! Working under the most difficult environments — dark, pouring rain and thunder — I have never seen the precision of teamwork and knowledge that this crew displayed while ensuring the safety of everyone on the team.
In our society today, we have the tendency to find fault before we offer praise. To the city of Wilson, you are commended in having such a great team of workers. I praise them and congratulate them for their hard work and knowledge of the their jobs. Well done!
