Kountry Kitchen owner Tim Whitley revived the Kountry Kitchen several years ago after the long-standing restaurant lay dormant for quite some time. From the beginning, he knew his focus should be on one thing: quality. Quality ingredients, quality staff and a quality environment for locals to enjoy "fine country food." The strategy has paid off. The feedback from the lunch buffets and "kountry breakfasts" is nothing but positive, and the restaurant's space is at its maximum capacity most days.
Though breakfast is not offered on a buffet - so it can be as fresh as possible - standouts of the country staples include homemade pancakes and biscuits. On the lunch buffet, a rotating mix of everything from outstanding chicken pastry to tender barbecue ribs and tasty meatloaf complement collards, squash and cabbage, among countless other items. On the cold side of the bar, they offer treats such as homemade chicken salad and deviled eggs all day. Homemade desserts are also available.
Though the restaurant can seat more than 100, it includes a small dining room that seats 32 and is available for reservations. Kountry Kitchen also offers catering for small parties and both business and social events all around eastern North Carolina.
