A Wilson man died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening on N.C. 58.

The wreck happened at 5:05 p.m. at the 4800 block of NW Nash Street, which is between Nantucket Drive and First Free Will Baptist Church.

According to Sgt. Steven Stroud with the Wilson Police Department, the victim was identified as Danny R. Jenkins, 51, of Wilson.

Jenkins was heading south toward Wilson when he ran off the road, crossing northbound lanes, striking a utility pole and some nearby bushes.
