Douglas W. Thompson, 84, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020, in his home.

A service for the family was held at Evergreen Memorial Park. A celebration of life for the public will be considered at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Betty “Jean” Lamm Thompson; daughter, Debbie Quick (Russ) of Greenville; son, Keith Thompson of Wilson; grandsons, Tanner and Tyler Quick of Greenville; and sister, Rebecca Medlin (Harold) of Cedar Point.

He was a longtime member of Milbournie Free Will Baptist Church and had served in the North Carolina National Guard.
