Candyland Christmas will return to Historic Downtown Wilson in 2020. Participating merchants will be transformed into a game board of candy creations including the Gingerbread House, Peppermint Forest and Chocolate Cherry Palace.
Downtown trees will be wrapped in red and white candy cane lights. New colored lights will be blinking on the Courthouse Plaza tree, and a brand new life-size sleigh in Banker’s Plaza mini park will be the perfect photo op for a family Christmas card.
Decorations will light up downtown on Nov. 21 to kick off the second Lollipop Lotto shopping promotion. Shopping within the downtown municipal service district will award one shopper a grand prize of $1,000. Prize monies will be delivered through a combination of Downtown Dollars and Visa gift cards.
The shopping promotion lasts two weeks and ends Saturday, Dec. 5, with additional shopping specials, holiday activities from downtown non-profits including Wilson Arts and Imagination Station and a virtual tree lighting with Mayor Carlton Stevens.
