Jeremy Alvarez directed his Greenfield School varsity boys soccer team to a pair of lopsided victories last week, making him this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Jeremy, a senior attacking midfielder, collected two goals and four assists as the Knights blasted Wayne Christian on Tuesday, then scored a hat trick and made an assist in Greenfield’s 5-1 win over Liberty Christian of Durham on Thursday. The wins gave the Knights a 5-3 mark as they look to defend their North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A championship.
The son of Aracely and Oscar Alvarez of Sims, Jeremy has a 4.2 GPA at Greenfield while taking four Advanced Placement courses. He is a member of the school’s Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, Young Life and Spanish Club as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Jeremy also runs cross-country for the Knights, posting a top-10 finish in the state championship meet last year.
He plans to continue his soccer career at Campbell University.
Jeremy previously played travel soccer with North Carolina Football Club Academy but has returned to Wilson Youth Soccer Association this year.
