Fike High senior Riley Patterson is this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Riley was a two-year varsity letter winner in volleyball and a four-year letter winner in soccer.
The daughter of Windi and Patrick Patterson of Wilson, Riley has a 4.57 weighted GPA and is ranked 10th in her senior class at Fike, where she takes honors, Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment courses through Wilson Community College.
She is a member of Fike’s chapters of Beta Club and National Honor Society as well as Club Interact, Spanish Club and the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.
Riley has been a special needs tutor for three years. She was a volunteer Upward basketball coach and has also volunteered for such events as Special Olympics, Relay for Life, Robin Run and the Whirligig Festival.
She played for Wilson Youth Soccer Association ‘02 girls Premier team and has worked part-time as a youth soccer referee for Wilson Parks and Recreation Department for five years.
Riley will attend Liberty University, where she plans to major in psychology and counseling
