ELM CITY — Kelly Summer Lewis, 40, passed away peacefully at her home after losing her battle with Stage 5 kidney disease on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Shingleton Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-6:45 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the Boone/Eason family cemetery, Elm City.
She was a spirited, fun-loving person who was extremely intelligent and a committed and loyal friend to all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin “Dickie” Lewis.
She is survived by her mother, Cheryl Fanton (Ray) of Wilson; brother, Brett Lewis (Beth) of Wake Forest; uncles, Dale Glasco (Lee) of Miami, Florida, Gary Glasco (Rose) of Vero Beach, Florida; special loving friend, Jerry Draper; nephews, Hunter Lewis (Georgie) of Stantonsburg, Skyler Lewis (Carla) of Groton, Connecticut, and Danny Lewis of Stantonsburg; stepsisters, Ruth Schumacher (Paul) of New York and Randi Sue Shirley (Lane) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; stepnieces, Allison Berg (Dennis) of Idaho and Anna Shirley of Idaho; and stepnephews, Gavin Schumacher of New York and Jake Shirley of Idaho.
