ROCKY MOUNT — Described as an “off night” by head coach Kenneth Atkinson, the Community Christian School varsity girls basketball team saw its main threat in Olivia Walker held to just two points in a 36-14 loss to 1-A/2-A Coastal Independents Conference foe Faith Christian.

Walker, who entered play averaging 15 points per game against CIC opposition, was held down as the Lady Cyclones (4-12, 2-6 CIC) went into halftime trailing 20-8.

Makayla Webb led the way with seven points.

“We had a real off night,” Atkinson described. “We couldn’t get anything going at all. We played good defense, but we couldn’t get anything to fall.”

Logan Ayers led Faith Christian (12-6, 8-2 CIC) with 13 points.

CCS visits Lee Christian on Thursday.
