Romaine Clark Woodard died peacefully on Sept. 24, 2019, surrounded by her family.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at First Presbyterian Church, Wilson. Her family will receive friends in Clark Hall immediately following the service and other times at the home, 1700 Nash St. NW.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Romaine Clark Woodard and David Warren Woodard.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Romaine “Robin” Hauser, Anderson Peters Griffin, Coalter Paxton Peters Jr. and wife Summer; her grandchildren, Anna Merritt Hauser and Joseph Alan “Trey” Griffin III. She is fondly remembered by her brother and his family, David Warren Woodard Jr. and wife Mial, and their daughters, Romaine Clark Woodard, Kate Woodard Marks and husband Smith and Warren Woodard.
Romaine was a grateful servant, devoted mother and grandmother and beloved friend to all. All who knew her can attest to her generous spirit and her unique personality. She was truly one of a kind and unforgettable.
She channeled her originality while she was associated with Barnes and Flippin Interiors. For 50 years, she contributed her talents and creativity in artistic design.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The McKinnon Fund or the Woodard Legacy at First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 3184, Wilson, NC 27895.
